Octopath Traveler 2 is a big improvement upon the original HD-2D game in many ways. However, there is still plenty of room for change, which is where the best mods for Octopath Traveler 2 come into play.

The six best Octopath Traveler 2 mods

Since Octopath Traveler 2’s impressive release, only a few mods have come out for the PC version. The best mods fix core issues with the game, such as underpowered skills. Others streamline RNG-related aspects of the game, including the Path Actions used by the eight protagonists.

1. Unlimited followers mod

This Nexus mod for Octopath Traveler 2 blends together a few smaller mods and allows players to use all followers in the game an unlimited amount of times.

Normally, characters like Agnea and Ochette can only summon followers in battle a certain number of times before they return to where they came from. This mod ensures that the most useful followers like Alrond, who exponentially increases earned EXP and JP, can be used nonstop.

2. Damage and stat unlimiter

Stats have a strict cap in Octopath Traveler 2, such as 999 for basic character stats and 9999 for damage (unless you use the Deal More Damage support skill). This basic mod removes the cap for all stats and damage, so it is possible to make broken parties.

3. Steal everything mod

Stealing in this game is risky business as the thief Throné. With this mod, all of her thieving will be 100% guaranteed to succeed. This ensures you never have to save and reload between trying to steal an item with only a 3% chance of success.

4. Octoplus Buff Package

Octoplus Buff Package is a massive mod that overhauls many of the underused and underpowered skills in the game. It goes through nearly every single job and changes how many of the less useful skills work.

For instance, Hikari’s EX Skill Ultimate Stance is changed into a single-target skill. Normally, Ultimate Stance is a self-target skill, limiting Hikari to only modifying his own attacks for a certain number of turns. This mod makes it so that you can give Ultimate Stance to any party member. There are numerous other valuable skill fixes like this in the mod.

5. Really Evasive Maneuvers mod

The Scholar Evasive Maneuvers passive skill lets you reduce the rate of the random encounters in the world. However, if you hoped the skill would disable random encounters entirely, you’ll want to download this mod.

6. Force primary job clothing

Octopath Traveler 2 oddly forces players to change the look of their character to whatever their secondary job is. The only way to switch between the primary job outfit and the secondary appearance is to completely unequip the additional job.

If you want to keep your secondary job and the character’s original outfit at the same time, you’ll need this mod. This cosmetic mod is awesome, but keep in mind there’s currently a bug that messes up the secondary job’s skills.
