When word about Tekken Card Tournament first got out, it seemed to me like it could easily have been a quick side project for Namco Bandai. I didn’t expect it to get this kind of treatment — just look at the embedded trailer to see what I mean. Real effort was put into its creation, and it sounds as if people are digging this turn-based fighting game.

Tekken Card Tournament is available as of today for iOS, Android, and browsers. Unsurprisingly, it’s a free-to-play title with real-world cards set to appear on store shelves this year. I’m not particularly into Tekken or trading card games, but the unlikely combination of these two things has somehow resulted in a game I feel is worth trying out. The gameplay is straightforward, though that’s not necessarily a negative.
