The battling biking babe is back

With the release of the Jun Kazama trailer, Tekken fans thought that maybe Bandai Namco might go a little quiet on the Tekken 8 character reveals for a few months — But instead, the studio has actually tripled down, offering up not one, not two, but three new reveals in the seven days since!

Leading the pack — at least in the minds of many franchise fans — is top-tier ass-kicker Asuka Kazama!

Miss Kazama made her debut back in 2005’s Tekken 5, where she immediately won over the hearts of fans with her cutie-pie looks, stoic spirit, and take-no-shit, never-say-die attitude. Something of a more distant relative to the Kazama/Mishima bloodline, Kazama spends her days as a hilariously self-appointed “pacifist vigilante”, who tends to break up/prevent street fights by, well, kicking the shit out of everyone and then demanding that they all make up.

The hot-headed, high-spirited teenager has developed something of a fierce rivalry with her school chum and fellow Tekkenite Lili Rochefort, who has superbly mastered the fine art of pushing our girl’s buttons.

Asuka looks as lovely as ever, and is seen sporting a neat summery take on her traditional school uniform, complete with pageboy cap, pink necktie, and cute Victorian boots. Of course, this sweet demeanor belies her indomitable striking power, and we can see this demonstrated in Asuka’s distinct blend of Karate and Aikido — frequently disrupting her opponent’s balance before laying in with short, powerful blows. Of course, once all of the fightin’ and feudin’ is done with, our Champion of the Peace is all ready to deliver a stern lecture on the finer points of social behavior.

Tekken 8 is currently in development for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X. It is tentatively expected to launch late in 2023 or early 2024. Be sure to check out the previous trailers for  Jin Kazama, Marshall Law, Nina Williams, King, Paul Phoenix, Jack-8, Lars AlexanderssonKazuya Mishima, Jun Kazama, and Ling Xiayou.
