Street Fighter’s Guile and Cammy are crossing over into Fortnite

Holding down-back in the center of the storm

Ryu and Chun-Li won’t be the only Street Fighter characters in Fortnite for much longer. Capcom announced today that two more fighters, Guile and Cammy, will be headed to the battle royale.

The pair will hit the Fortnite Item Shop on Aug. 7 at 8 p.m. ET. Much like Ryu and Chun-Li, both characters get some extras alongside their in-game skins. Guile gets a K.O. Back Bling and a beach-ready Glistening Guile Variant. The showcase also showed an emote of Guile doing his Flash Kick, followed by a comb of his luscious, gravity-defying locks.

The Cammy Outfit, meanwhile, has a Borealis Backer Back Bling and a Tactical Cammy Variant. They also showed off her own emote, which features her back-turned win pose. I’m a little bummed that Cammy’s Variant isn’t a Decapre alt or anything, but it’s still cool to see one of my earliest Street Fighter mains cross over into Fortnite.

The Cammy & Guile Gear Bundle will also add some Street Fighter-inspired gear, like the Knuckle Buster Pickaxe and Cammy’s Delta Red Bowie Blade Pickaxe, as well as a V-Trigger Vector Glider inspired by Guile’s original stage.

Thanks to the timing of the launch, yes, this means you can attend Ariana Grande’s upcoming concert series in Fortnite as either Cammy or Guile from Street Fighter. It might sound a little bizarre, but Fortnite has grown so much at this point to encompass so many franchises and characters that, sure, why not? I think Guile and Cammy deserve a little R&R and a virtual concert vacation from the usual bouts of street fighting.

Capcom also confirmed that Oro and Akira, the next two characters coming to Street Fighter V, are arriving on Aug. 16, 2021. As for Guile and Cammy, they’ll arrive in Fortnite on Aug. 7.
