More than half of staff ‘faces redundancy’

A report in the print version of MCV says that Capcom Europe are undergoing a major restructuring, and that more than half of the staff “faces redundancy” with a number of positions merging.

A Capcom statement to MCV says that they’re currently evaluating their structure following reorganization in the United States earlier this year

“Following a restructure at its US operation, Capcom’s European organization is currently evaluating its structure to ensure it is in the best position to take advantage of the changing market conditions the industry is facing,” said the statement, according to Videogamer.

Capcom has had a bit of a rough year with console game sales on the decline. Lost Planet 3 didn’t do that well for them, for example.
