See the ugly side of football in Dirty Sexy Soccer

Jumpers for goal posts and all that

Football sure has its ugly side, whether it’s match fixing, hooliganism, and John Terry’s wandering hands. Football Manager, for all its accuracy, never takes into account any of these things, but Dirty Sexy Soccer does. It’s an ambitious-looking MMOG that will have you taking on day-to-day duties of a football team by day and engaging in all kinds of nefarious deeds by night, like forging your resume to get the manager’s job, to doping your star players to get the performances you need to win.

Dirty Sexy Soccer is using a mix of your usual sports management game with RPG elements to make something a bit different. In truth, it looks more like an interactive novel, with over-the-top, cartoonish characters that guide your team from the gutter to the top of the league.

It’s an interesting mix for sure and right now Gray Tower 23, the Serbian studio behind the project, is looking for £48,000 to make the game. Might be a bit tight; Football Manager is king of the sports management games and a novel approach like this might be a bit of a stretch. However, I’d be up for playing a strategy game with less stats and more dirty dealings.
