After a week of several leaks of Grand Theft Auto 6 gameplay footage, Rockstar Games has finally put out a statement ahead of the game’s official reveal tomorrow.
In the statement, the developer apologized for the game’s development taking so long, and called the leaks “heartbreaking for our team,” saying “this is obviously not how we intended for you to see the game after all this time.”
Tomorrow is the big day everyone has been waiting for, as GTA 6: An Extended Look will premiere on Netflix and be uploaded to YouTube later in the day. Not much is known about the reveal, but it’s expected to showcase official gameplay along with more details about the game’s story and characters.
“We are very excited for everyone to see the extended look tomorrow,” Rockstar said. “It has taken longer than we wanted to get it ready, but as with everything we do, we know we need to exceed your expectations, and we are determined to deliver at the level you expect and deserve. While it is unfortunate that the intended game experience may now be impacted by some spoilers, we hope that everyone will wait a bit longer to experience the game for themselves on November 19.”
To be honest, I wasn’t expecting Rockstar to say anything at all. If anything, the leaks have created more excitement and buzz around the game over the past week leading up to tomorrow. But the decision to address the situation has done little to change player sentiment about how GTA 6, and future games in general, are going fully digital without a disc-based physical release.

It would be an understatement to say that having videos of Grand Theft Auto VI gameplay leak in this way has been heartbreaking for our team, and this is obviously not how we intended for you to see the game after all this time.
