Yet Another Zombie Survivors 1.0 has added plenty of new content, and we have more options when it comes to classes. Not only do we have new options, but all the existing ones from the early access have also retained their place.
In this guide, I will go through how all available classes fair in the current meta, and which ones you can rely on during gruelling runs.
Complete Yet Another Zombie Survivors 1.0 tier list
To separate all the available classes/specializations, I have used three different tiers.
- S-tier classes are the best possible options to have on your team.
- A-tier classes are suitable alternatives to S-tier options and more so if you use them in complementary roles.
- B-tier classes are niche options that only excel with very specific teams or builds.

S-tier
- Medic: The only class that can sustainably provide heals for the entire team. It is a must-have option if you are playing any mode that goes beyond the usual 20 mins. Without the Medic, most of your runs will end prematurely due to the lack of sufficient heals.
- Tank: One of the best classes to have for multiple reasons. It comes unlocked by default, so you can equip it on any run. It is the fastest class when it comes to leveling up in the game. You get a decent amount of health, which allows beginners to escape certain bad decisions. It also has some wonderful weapons that prioritize doing AoE damage. As a beginner, knowing the perfect spot on the map can be confusing, but you can manage that relatively well with the Tank on your team.
- Swat: Another class that comes with a good variety of skills by default and offers one of the best damage potential in the entire game. It can zone out enemies and control their tempo. Some available skills do a lot of AOE damage, making the Swat a great choice against minions. Thanks to its turrets, the Swat is also very effective against most of the elite/boss enemies.

A-tier
- Ghost: Perhaps the best AoE class, the Ghost is outstanding when it comes to clearing waves of enemies. Its abilities have very low cooldowns, which means you can constantly spam the skills. Its low base damage makes it unideal against bosses or elite enemies.
- Engineer: While the Engineer has the best crowd control potential out of all classes, its base damage is pretty low. Classes like the Swat are better when it comes to killing bosses, which becomes a necessity if you’re playing at higher difficulties.
B-tier
- Huntress: While the Huntress has amazing range, her abilities are extremely lackluster. The only ability with good damage potential is Arrow Rain, but its landing spots are too random to my liking. This class can be considered as A-tier, but you’ll have to invest plenty of resources.
- Pyro: Despite having some flashy abilities, the Pyro is fragile. The weapons are mediocre at best, and the class also lacks AoE/CC potential with its abilities. Overall, the class is just too inconsistent to be used in harder difficulties.
I have yet to unlock and assess the Ranger, and I will be adding my review for the class very soon.
