Capcom is sooooo good to us
Since Capcom has decided that a Western release of Rockman Xover is crucial, I feel duty-bound to deliver the latest details so that you may prepare yourself against thine enemy.
As mentioned previously, Xover is a social RPG for iOS devices meant to coincide with the Mega Man series’ 25th anniversary. We’ve now learned that the game will be free-to-play, so at the very least you don’t have to spend a single red cent on this mountain of filth. Not unless you want to spend money, of course, in which case I’ll have to visit your house and slap you.
Each player takes control of a mass-produced Reploid that can be customized by equipping “Battle Chips,” and the social aspect comes into play by allowing you to summon other players’ heroes to assist in battles. And the name of this new Mega Man? OVER-1. The hell does that even mean? Over one what? It ought to be OVER-9000, because then at least we could make the stale, six-year-old joke — as if the game wasn’t enough of a joke as is.
Capcom claims that Xover involves the pantheon of Mega Man heroes and villains, but in all the screens thus far, only the X series is represented. However, I’m positive Capcom will showcase a little variety when the game is demoed at Tokyo Game Show later this month. That’s something for Dale, Conrad, and Allistair to look forward to, most certainly.
