Operation: Chimera, the first season in Year Three of Ubisoft’s Rainbow Six: Siege is now live, meaning a selection of your favourite counter-terrorist operators can now go zombie-killing in limited-time event, Outbreak.

Outbreak is a three-player co-op mode set in a dingy little suburb that has suffered some form of mysterious viral breakout. Your team of three Operators, from a selection of the game’s main roster, must pick their way through the creepy environment taking down a horde of grim creatures. You’ve never pulled the trigger this many times in one round of Siege — Well, I have, but I can’t aim for shit.

The mode also features the debut of new Operators Lion and Finka, who specialise in contamination scenarios. These new kids are still unavailable to play within Siege proper, but you can get a sneak peek at them in this monster-bashing side-quest. Players logging in will also receive a handful of Outbreak-themed Alpha-Packs.

Rainbow Six: Siege is available now on PS4, Xbox One and PC. The Outbreak event will run until April 3. You can check out our thoughts on the mode right here.
