R.B.I. Baseball, one of the most beloved baseball videogame franchises, will make its long-awaited return this spring with the release of R.B.I. Baseball ’14. The next installment comes after a nearly 20-year hiatus, as the last entry in the series was R.B.I. ’95.
Details are sparse at the moment, but the game will come to “current and next generation consoles, and mobile devices,” the latter meaning both smartphones and tablets. Other than that, we only know that R.B.I. Baseball ’14 is being developed by MLB Advanced Media.
It seems like a prime time for the series to make a comeback, given that 2K recently pulled its baseball franchise, meaning that it will only launch alongside Sony-exclusive MLB 14 The Show. Hopefully this can provide a hefty dose of feel-good nostalgia, even though something tells me we will no longer need to write down codes to save our progress.
