Quantum Break maxes out on painful time troubles

They broke the quantums

The next big thing from Remedy is not an “immersive” iPad game about telling ships where to sail. It’s Quantum Break, a game that looks to combine everything Remedy has learned from developing games like Alan Wake and Max Payne into one big action/drama/sci-fi epic.

If you haven’t been impressed with “next gen” graphics until now, this is one of the games that may change your mind, as the level of detail in character models, animation, and environments is staggering. The game’s time-stopping hook seems to in part be an excuse to have the player stop focusing on what they’re doing and just take in the visuals. It’s hard to say how much all those extra details will matter when you’re busying running around and shooting stuff.

There’s a few goofy time glitches in the background during Creative Director Sam Lake’s explanation of the game. It will be interesting to see if they end up meaning anything.
