PS5 controllers, like the games, will cost 70 bucks

The DualSense pricing could’ve been worse

As recently as right before lunch, we were having a dread-filled conversation about how much PS5 controllers would cost. Thankfully, our fears – our worst-case scenarios – didn’t pan out to be true. Sony confirmed the pricing as part of today’s PS5 Showcase event and it’s not the absolute worst.

The PS5 DualSense controller will cost $69.99 (€69.99) if and when you ever buy another one. In a world where the Nintendo Switch Joy-Con can go for $79.99, I’m reasonably okay with this.

Sony also confirmed the pricing for several other PS5 accessories like the DualSense Charging Station ($29.99 / €29.99), the Media Remote ($29.99 / €29.99), and the HD Camera ($59.99 / €59.99).

As a reminder, you won’t be able to use your DualShock 4 to play PS5 games – just PS4 titles.
