2019 is looking to be the year of retro FPS revivals. With Ion Maiden and Amid Evil both targeting Q1 2019, fans of labyrinthine level design and key hunting are in for a treat. If you just can’t get enough of those old shooters, then the recently announced Prodeus will likely check all the right boxes for you.

Combining an aesthetic similar to STRAFE with weapons straight out of Quake, Prodeus is being touted as being a “first-person shooter of old, re-imagined using modern rendering techniques. It reaches the quality you expect from a AAA experience while adhering to some of the aesthetic technical limits of older hardware.”

All I can say is, bring it on! I love old-school shooters and I’ll happily play any of them.
