Pokemon Go developer looking at one-on-one battles

Like trading it needs to come at some point

Niantic just unleashed the Buddy System in Pokemon Go, but it has a lot of features left to live up to when it announced the game many moons ago in its inaugural trailer. Trading, for one, would be great, as would a true battle mode outside of asynchronous gyms, and it “might” be coming at some point.

CEO John Hanke told TechCrunch (in addition to the fact that the game might come to Android Wear in addition to the Apple Watch) the following: “I have 10-year-old son – he’s my Pokemon expert, we play together – he wants to battle his friends in Pokemon Go. Battling is something we talk a lot about. It’s probably something that will make its way onto our roadmap.”

That sounds like business as usual for Go. I wonder when we’ll see the first major overhaul? Or the Silver and Gold crew?
