Persona Q: New battle system videos show Boost system

Aaaaahhhh!!!

It’s gotten to the point to where I’m checking my YouTube subscriptions first thing in the morning to see if there are any more videos from Atlus on their upcoming wares. Today we’re in luck as a couple of new videos on Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth‘s battle system have been released.

These videos focus on the Boost system of Persona Q. Exploiting weaknesses has always been a Persona series staple. You usually do extra damage for finding an enemy’s weak point, but in Persona Q your character enters a Boost mode that lets them attack at no cost to their resources.

The end of this second video shows that All-Out Attacks can happen more frequently if you have more characters in Boost.

Between getting extra attacks in, hitting harder, getting an earlier turn, and possibly triggering an All-Out Attack, looking for those weaknesses in battle are going to be key. This is kind of like Shin Megami Tensei IV‘s Smirk system, isn’t it?

Also, don’t you love the way they say “Jack Frost” in this first video?
