Old Spice games hitting Xbox Live … seriously

Recommended Videos

We’ve seen all sorts of retarded “advergames” over the years, but I think this one truly takes the cake. At least wit Yo Noid, Cool Spot or Doritos Dash of Destruction, they were advertising products that would appeal directly to gamers. Old Spice? Not so much.

Nevertheless, the insane, twisted, hideous offspring of Old Spice and gaming has slithered onto the Indie Games channel of Xbox Live. Not one, not two, but three games are available for download — Old Spice Racers, Newton vs. The Horde and The Fresh Card Game. Play away your odor problems with Old Spice!

Here’s the real kick in the balls though. Not only is Old Spice trying to put glorified commercials on Xbox Live, it’s actually expecting you to pay for them. Yes, these advertisements will cost you 240 MS Points per game. Seriously.

I would be angry and hateful about this, but in truth, I’m too surprised. I am actually shocked by the sheer nerve of Old Spice in this scenario. Not only to put interactive commercials on an INDIE game channel, but to also charge for them? Wow … I’d be impressed if it wasn’t so disgusting.
