Nintendo president to keynote GDC 2011

Sounds like Nintendo intends on making a big splash at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco. It’s just been revealed that company president Satoru Iwata will keynote the event, which is now in its 25th year.

Iwata’s keynote will be entitled “Video Games Turn 25: A Historical Perspective and Vision for the Future.” What this means, of course, is that Iwata will talk about Nintendo’s vision for the future, so you can bet we’ll be there taking notes.

This isn’t the first time Iwata has spoken at the keynote for GDC. In 2005, he dropped the first information about the technology that would power the Wii; in 2006 he discussed “disrupting development”; and in 2009 he revealed a new Legend of Zelda title.

GDC will take place from February 28 to March 4.
