The first add-on for BioShock 2‘s single-player portion, dubbed “Protector Trials,” goes live today on Xbox LIVE Marketplace and PlayStation Network. This $4.99 download revisits the concept of protecting your Little Sister while she gathers Adam, as seen many times in the on-disc content.

Personally, I got extremely tired of doing this during BioShock 2‘s story, but then again, I did go for all the Adam available (you didn’t necessarily need to). Even still, I’ve heard people say they love the potential for strategy in these fights; this add-on is for them, not me.

For those intrigued, you’re getting six maps based on pre-existing locations, three difficulty levels, unlockables such as concept art and videos, and seven new Achievements/Trophies. Who’s in?
