Neil Gaiman, author, statesman and idol to everyone who has ever dreamt of wearing a cape in public, has publicly denounced the rumors around his involvement with the sequel to the Silent Hill movie. The first movie was one of the best video-game-to-movie adaptations of all time, and many were hoping that the addition of the heralded writer would elevate the sequel to even loftier heights.

Christopher Gans, the director of the original, recently stated that Gaiman would be co-writing the script with Roger Avary, but Gaiman doesn’t seem to know anything about it. Of course, it’s entirely possible that Mr. Gaiman couldn’t hear the news over the sound of Bloodflowers on eternal repeat through the bat-shaped earbuds of his Limited Edition Bauhaus iPod, but any opportunity I get to kick sand in the face of people who are more than not likely wearing fishnet something, is an opportunity I can’t pass up.

By the way, Alice Cooper called. He wants his schtick back.
