Gameloft has been teasing a new N.O.V.A game, N.O.V.A Elite, for a while now. People speculated it would be an online-only iOS/Android spin-off, but they were only half right. It’s a multiplayer-only FPS shooter, but it’s actually on Facebook.
You want to know the real surprise? The game is somehow not awful.
N.O.V.A Elite works surprisingly well, despite a little lag here and there. There’s a crapload of content — some of it requiring Facebook Credits — and matches are large with full-on FPS controls. For a freemium multiplayer FPS that looks good and fits in your browser, it ain’t bad at all.
At the very least, it’s worth checking out for the novelty, but I think I quite like it.
