My Nintendo extends expiration period for Gold Points

But not for Platinum

Recommended Videos

For five months now, My Nintendo users have been criticizing the six month grace period for point expiration, one of the least flattering “features” of the service. Well, Nintendo has responded — for one of the currencies at least.

Starting today the expiration window for Gold Points (read: points earned through buying stuff and getting rebates) is 12 months instead of six. Platinum, which Nintendo specifically mentioned in the same post, remains at a six month limit. Anyone remember the old Wii U Deluxe program? That was actually pretty good, and it was on top of Club Nintendo!

I really hope that Nintendo reconsiders and adds Platinum to the equation. That, and the addition of some extra offers for whenever the NX launches. It needs…something.
