Before there ever was an Ash and Pikachu (this is not true) there was Genki and his eyeball…thing. Before there ever was a MonHun there was MonRan

Do you remember the Monster Rancher television series that aired here in the U.S. in the early 2000s? Or, better yet, do you remember the PlayStation/PS2 game that would have you putting CDs in your system to generate monsters to add to your collection?

Discotek Media says that it will release the entire Monster Rancher anime series in the U.S. English dubbed boxsets will hit shelves this December, and then another set with all 73 episodes in Japanese, with English subtitles, will drop in 2014.

ADV previously released part of the series on VHS (ha!) and DVD, but this is the first time the full set will be available here.

ANN reminds that the series is currently streaming on Hulu.
