Mass Effect 3 Multiplayer Challenges not approved by Sony

All you Mass Effect 3 fans are probably aware of the consistent weekend challenge events, that reward players with items and other such bonuses just for playing during certain time frames. Similar to Call of Duty’s XP Events, It’s a nice way to reward players in an absolutely free manner (what a novel idea!). Well, unfortunately, 360 and PC fans are the only people who get to enjoy it this weekend, because due to an undisclosed reason, Sony isn’t supporting it.

BioWare isn’t saying exactly why — they just want to make sure that you know it isn’t their fault. On their official blog, BioWare issued this statement — “We continue to work with them to find a compromise, but until then, Sony will not allow us to run the same Multiplayer Challenges on the PlayStation 3 that we run on Xbox 360 and PC.”

For reference, the event will run from Friday, April 13th at 5PM PST to Monday, April 16th 5AM PST. While I’m not super crazy about ME3’s multiplayer mode, I think BioWare did a good job with it, and it’s nice to see it consistently supported. While the drip-fed unlocks aren’t the coolest thing in the world, thankfully, the game is still fun — especially with friends.
