Marvel Rivals is ready to recreate the MCU’s most iconic moment in a silly limited-time mode, and it might just get me back on the game.
I’ve seriously fallen off the Rivals wagon in recent months. I used to play the game almost daily, but at least weekly, completing challenges and ranking up the battle pass each season. But of late, I can’t be bothered. And that may change thanks to Thanos.

Path to Doomsday: Avengers Endgame is coming to the game this weekend, and it features a large-scale PvE battle of dozens of players teaming up to take down a giant-sized Thanos with the Infinity Gauntlet in an epic boss battle that’s sure to test the limits of consoles and CPUs everywhere.
The trailer showcases an area that looks like it was ripped right out of the final battle of 2019’s Avengers: Endgame, which serves as the perfect jumping-off point into Avengers: Doomsday when it comes to theaters in December. Rivals will have a tie-in for that, too.
But as for the mode itself, a lot of it is a mystery for now, but it at least looks similar to previous PvE modes in the game, like the Age of Ultron one from earlier this year where players teamed up to fight the giant murderbot.
But this one, as it pertains to nostalgia and pure joy, looks to be on another level. Many theatergoers will never forget their first time seeing the “Portals” scene in Endgame, and recreating it in one of the brand’s most successful video games is an exciting aspect for fans.
Path to Doomsday: Avengers Endgame goes live on Friday evening in the US, and I’ll make some time this weekend to check it out at least once and decide if it’s worth grinding out.
