A new update for Marvel Rivals arrives soon, and it’s bringing one of the comic companies most iconic heroes.
Scott Summers, AKA Cyclops, joins the battle with season 8.5, but there’s a lot more to it than that, including a whole new lineup of sultry swimsuit outfits sure to turn up the heat and make sure you dive head-first into your pool.

Marvel Rivals season 8.5 patch notes

New hero: Cyclops
The leader of the X-Men is finally here. The Duelist hero uses his optic blasts to control the battlefield, dealing damage to the enemy team and even ricochet shots off of walls.
New map: K’un Lun: Shenloong Arena

A new map is arriving with the update, and it’s got its own dedicated mode to go along with it. The Tournament of the Heavenly Cities commences in the
New game mode: Bounty Annihilation
Shenloong Arena’s map plays home to a special 18-vs-18 mode. More info is coming soon.
Hero nerfs and buffs

Team-Up Ability changes

- Changed: Primal Flame (Phoenix and Black Widow)
- Wolverine removed.
- New: Blast Slash (Wolverine and Cyclops)
- Cyclops is the anchor of this team-up as he powers up Wolverine’s claws, boosting his attack range.
Swimsuit skins

A whole bunch of new scantily-clad skins are coming as part of a Summer Festival 2026 event, bringing outfits for heroes like Emma Frost, Dr. Strange, Cloak & Dagger, Spider-Man, Mister Fantastic, Hela, Daredevil, Black Widow, Captain America, and White Fox.
The Summer Festival event will also include up to 2,500 free Units to earn.
New social hub: Hellfire Bay Beach

Like Times Square before it, this area will be a laid back area for players to explore and have fun with friends.
616 Day Vault

Limited time skins from July through September 2025 are coming back to the store to celebrate 616 Day (June 16). These include several of last year’s swimsuit skins.
Path to Doomsday
The Avengers: Age of Ultron and Avengers: Infinity War special modes for Path to Doomsday have been delayed to late July and mid-October, respectively.
