Maniac Mansion + Resident Evil = Point, Click, Decapitate

While cruising around Youtube looking for some music for the next episode of Sundays with Sagat, I stumbled upon this. Maybe you’ll need to to be a +30-year-old, lifelong gamer to appreciate it, but to me, this feels like genius. Resident Evil and Maniac Mansion are two great tastes that taste great together, and I can only wonder why it took so long for someone to pair them up.

There is only one thing that bugs me about this mash-up; why am I watching it? Why aren’t I playing it?  With all the graphics and puzzles pre-made I’d imagine that it would be a easy enough for anyone with a passing knowledge of Game Maker to get this thing built into a playable form. Get on that, Major Neese.

Speaking of Major Neese (the creator of this series), he seems to have cast himself in the role of Chris Redfield in this videos. That’s not the only deviation to the Resident Evil/Maniac Mansion-mythos you’ll find here. Dr Fred Edison is especially unpredictable. He does some sh*t that I could have never seen coming.

The rest of the series is posted after the jump.
