Shaun White: Road Trip on the Wii is the only reason I ever use my Balance Board (or it was until Wii Fit Plus came out). It’s actually quite a well put together game, despite Cammie’s inability to play it. It actually shows that the Balance Board does have a place in at least one genre of gaming. In a rare occurrence for a third party game on the Wii, a well put together videogame actually sold well and thus we’re getting a sequel. The sequel, Shaun White: World Tour, is nearing release and Ubisoft is promising lots of improvements over the original including the ability to make your own tricks.
In the video above they show off the trick maker, which is pretty different from other trick makers in that you control the actual movements in the trick instead of simply chaining together different moves to make a bigger move. Using Wii MotionPlus players can control the movement of their snowboards in order to create their very own move. They can then add in grabs, and finally map it to the controls to use in game. Very creative Ubisoft, let’s hope it works out.
