Latest Modern Warfare Zombies trailer offers sneak peek into second rift and new challenges

A new rift has opened

Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone’s initial Season 2 set-up strayed away from Zombies, leaving everything to Reloaded. Finally, the time has finally come for a MWZ update, as this week’s drop includes additional Schematics and the latest Aether Rift.

The Modern Warfare Zombies Season 2 Reloaded snippet dives into an “unknown event” at Urzikstan. Like the Story Act from Season 1, the next update opens another Rift to explore. However, the challenge isn’t for the faint of heart, battling against numerous Mimics, Manglers, and, of course, zombies. The latest schematics will be handy here, especially with the Mags of Holding for quick reloads.

Based on my experience from Season 1, Rift challenges are probably one of the most demanding events in MWZ. Don’t even get me started on Act 4’s Gorm’gant Worm boss that makes Spongebob’s Alaskan Bull Worm seem like a cuddly creature. Aether Rifts, in general, can almost function the same as Level 40 in Call of Duty’s Zombie round-based modes. So, Season 2 Reloaded will undoubtedly make it much more complicated than it already is.

If you’re a beginner to the game, you may be unable to access the new MWZ features. This is due to the linear storyline requiring tasks with each tier. Some can be easy to manage, while others make you run for your life with endless zombie hordes.

MW3 Zombies Season 2 Reloaded Release Date Confirmed

According to the MWZ’s trailer ending, the MW3 Zombies free content update drops on March 6. The latest story mission may only be available for those who have completed Act 4. However, a bypass could be implemented to allow more users to play.

While it wasn’t mentioned in the MW3 Zombies Season 2 Reloaded trailer, more objectives will likely be added inside the Rift itself. It could also mean another special item to extract, similar to the Locked Diary. These mysterious items are crucial for MWZ’s many Easter Eggs, often tying into a brutal boss fight.

Speaking of bosses, a new Warlord, Keres, has been included in the new CoD update. Warlords have been continuously added through MW3’s timeline, such as Dokkaebi and the enemy within Legacy’s Fortress. Keres switches up the beat using a chemical approach to her attack strategy, forcing Operators to equip a gas mask. That means you’ll get caught up in the crossfires of her snipers, poison gas grenades, and traps.

Anyone who decides to take up these new challenges will not only reap the benefits of victory, but additional rewards, too. This could involve the latest V-R11 Wonder Weapon or Blood Burner Key Schematics.

The Call of Duty X account disclosed more information about the midseason update, such as “cryptic clues” to open the Rift Gate. Luckily, Sergei Revenov leads the charge to hopefully clear up some of its mysteries.

Zombies isn’t the only mode to get an update for Season 2 Reloaded, specifically for Warzone and Modern Warfare 3. New weapons, skins, and bug fixes are expected to improve the overall CoD experience.
