MW3 and Warzone Season 2 Reloaded: release date, Zombies updates, and New Maps

But wait, there's more!

Call of Duty Season 2 unleashed a bit of mayhem, mostly focusing on smaller-scale map sizes. Even the larger locations, like Vista, have been pretty chaotic, too. But no matter what, these maps have proved entertaining, especially with the return of Fortune’s Keep.

Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone Season 2 Reloaded keeps that ball rolling, featuring brand-new content for all modes. We’re here to give you all the deets, including release date speculation and the latest Zombies chapters.

When does MW3 and Warzone Season 2 Reloaded come out?

Season 2 Reloaded releases on March 6 at 9 AM PT/ 12 PM EST/ 11 AM CST, per the Call of Duty Blog.

The big question on every Call of Duty player’s mind is the file size for the update. We have seen an upward of 100 GB of required space in the past, but that might not be the case this time. The recent patches have primarily involved 24 to 40 GB, so just set aside some storage to prepare.

Modern Warfare 3 Season 2 Reloaded Features

According to the Call of Duty Blog, the Modern Warfare 3 mid-season update includes the following content:

  • Das Haus map
  • Two new map variants
  • Juggernosh limited-time game mode
  • Bounty game mode
  • Limited-time Vortex Playlist
  • Warhammer 40K skins

Season 2 Reloaded introduces the Das Haus 6v6 map. The location showcases an under-construction skyscraper near Highrise, taking the battle to the skies. It keeps up with Season 2’s theme of small maps, which will undoubtedly be faster-paced than others.

While Season 2 Reloaded only features one brand-new location, map variants are expected. You’ll see two 6v6 medium-sized areas, Airborne and Skidgrow, enter the Core playlist. The locations are based on maps we know and love but with a darker tone.

For instance, Airborne is just another version of Terminal with alien-like characteristics. Skidgrow is slightly more apparent with its connection to Skidrow, covering it with overgrown greenery.

With the map update, new game modes like Juggernosh and Bounty will be included, too. If you enjoy Call of Duty’s third-person perspective, try out the upcoming Juggernosh as a limited-time event. Operators will change into the elite Juggernaut get-up and compete in traditional modes, such as Kill Confirmed, Domination, and Hardpoint.

Tune into the Modern Warfare 3 Season 2 Reloaded’s Bounty mode for a more Team Deathmatch style. It functions the same way as TD; however, it does come with one new feature. Any player with the most kills from each team will get a target on their back. That means an HVT (high-value target) will be placed on the Operators, switching up over time. So, even if you’re killing it in Bounty, other players will be gunning for you for some extra points.

Lastly, the Vortex Playlist makes an appearance for the mid-season. Enter other worlds with this new mode to participate in Kill Confirmed, Domination, Team Deathmatch, and Hardpoint. You must jump into Satan’s Quarry, Sporeyard, the new map variants, or Tetanus to see an entirely different look, thanks to this Playlist.

For new cosmetics, check out the Warhammer 40K skins inspired by the 41st millennium. These bundles are great for those heated Juggernaut battles, including Ultramar’s Vengeance and Baal’s Wrath.

Modern Warfare 3 Zombies Season 2 Reloaded Features

The early parts of Season 2 didn’t bring much to the table for Zombies. Fortunately, the mid-season patch will dive deeper into the Dark Aether storyline:

  • Continuation of Dark Aether Story Act
  • Second Rift opens
  • New Schematics
  • Warlord Keres boss fight
  • New challenges with Prestige levels

More Story missions will debut in Modern Warfare 3 Zombies, taking you deeper into the Dark Aether. Sergei Ravenov acts as a guide through the darkness, presenting a new Rift to tackle.

You’ll unlock some new Schematics along the way, including:

  • V-R11 weapon: Makes zombies help you out in battle
  • Mags of Holding: Reduces the need to reload
  • Blood Burner Key: Unlocks the Blood Burner Wonder Vehicle

The new Schematics help out with the latest enemy, Warlord Keres. You’ll find her in the Killhouse at Orlov Military Base. She excels in chemical warfare and high defense, so be prepared for an all-out battle.

Warzone Season 2 Reloaded Features

Warzone has already launched plenty of content for the Season 2 release, but there are still a few more expected features:

  • Research Vessel Mobile Point of Interest
  • Bunker Buster Killstreak
  • Portable Decontamination Station Field Upgrade

Fortune’s Keep receives a new POI with a moving watercraft. Use it to gain an advantage in the water and take off at any time with its helipad. Players can also use the Bunker Buster Killstreak to launch a missile from afar. Just equip the binoculars to set a target, and then boom!

The Portable Decontamination Station makes a return for Warzone’s mid-season update. It has been improved upon to help you last longer against the circle gas, creating a temporary breathable space.

New weapons, Soulrender and SOA Subverter, are also available for all modes. The Soulrender excels in melee, perfect for those close-quarters showdowns. The blade features the latest Omnigenesis Weapon Camo and can be unlocked with the Season 2 Battle Pass. As for the SOA Subverter, this battle rifle packs a punch with the highest rate of fire in its class. The tool can be earned through Weekly Challenges, including three new Weapon Camos.

More updates will likely arrive for Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone Season 2 Reloaded, addressing bug fixes and error codes.
