Dead by Daylight players can claim a ‘splendid’ community reward early in light of technical difficulties

Claim it before it's gone.

Developer Behaviour Interactive has handed the Dead by Daylight community an early reward for its efforts in a recent challenge but also in light of the issues that have plagued the game since the last update.

Today, Behaviour Interactive decided to give the Dead by Daylight community the reward for the latest community challenge early. The developer explained that it’s done this in part because of the recent issues that have hit the game and prevented some players from jumping into Trials since Update 7.7.0 was released. It also recognized that the community probably would have completed the challenge anyway, and now we all have until May 14 to claim the reward before it’s gone.

Players can use redeem code “splendid” in Dead by Daylight for free Bloodpoints and Rift Fragments

Dead by Daylight players have until 11 AM ET/8 AM PT/4 PM BST to use the code SPLENDID in the in-game store before it’s gone. I’ve just double-checked the code and can confirm it’ll award you 500,000 Bloodpoints and 30 Rift Fragments for free. The Rift Fragments were enough to carry me through three ranks of the current Rift Pass, perfect for those aiming to hit the Deep Rift in Tome 19.

While it might not quite make up for the missed opportunity to earn Bloodpoints and Rift Fragments through gameplay over the last week, the reward is a setup from what was originally planned for the community challenge. It looks like Behaviour Interactive has upped it to bring it close in line with what those who haven’t been able to play have missed out on.

The issue has taken roughly a week to fix, and the killswitch has been pulled on the Raccoon City map, but all the fixes have only just corrected whatever caused the issue in the first place. It’s unfortunate that it hit right when players had been set a community challenge.

The community was tasked with completing challenges in Dead by Daylight Tome 19: Splendor. The more we completed, the better our reward. Behaviour Interactive explained that we collectively almost made it to the third stage of this challenge. That’s pretty impressive, considering many players wouldn’t have been able to jump in and help.

The last Dead by Daylight update inadvertently introduced a number of issues, including strobing and flashing lights that could have been harmful to those with conditions triggered by them, such as epilepsy. This undoubtedly prevented some players from even launching the game. I first saw this on Reddit and don’t want to include a video here because the flashing was so intense. Even for those they don’t affect dramatically, it was enough to make you want to get off the game and close your eyes for five minutes.
