Kirby: Planet Robobot was the best selling game in Japan last week

There was a lot of baseball, too

While the rest of the world has to wait until mid-June to try Nintendo’s new Kirby: Planet Robobot, Japan gets a significant head start. The pink fluffball’s latest 3DS romp released in Japan on April 28, and it was the best selling game of the week.

The latest Media Create statistics are in, and Kirby: Planet Robobot is at the top of the charts with 144,846 units sold. The next three entrants are a curious case, as their success is divided three ways. Jikkyou Powerful Pro Baseball launched on PS4, Vita, and PS3 last week, and it finished in second, third, and fourth place. Combined, those three versions sold 243,431 copies — nearly 100,000 more than Kirby.

On the hardware front, sales are up over last week across almost every single system. PlayStation 4 sold the best with more 28,000 units moved. That’s up from some 20,000 last week. Next was the New 3DS XL which sold 20,000 units. Xbox One finished dead last with 100 sales.
