Is Zelda evil in Tears of the Kingdom? – Answered

Itā€™s complicated

Soon after starting The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you are tasked with the main story quest of finding Princess Zelda. The only problem is that she has been seen all over Hyrule, and you are pretty much following in her footsteps. Given the odd circumstances surrounding her in this game, many are wondering if Zelda is evil in Tears of the Kingdom.

Is Zelda evil in Tears of the Kingdom?

Answering the question of if Zelda is evil in Tears of the Kingdom is, understandably, a spoiler-filled one. This is your final chance to turn away now before we dive too deep into this main story subject. Still here? Alright, the complications about this have to do with the Princess Zelda sightings.

Throughout Hyrule, many citizens claim to have seen Zelda. Oddly enough, though, some of these encounters arenā€™t exactly positive. Youā€™ll hear about people following her only to run into monsters and the like.

If you head to Hyrule Castle at the start of the game and follow the beginning of the Crisis at Hyrule Castle main story quest, youā€™ll see her yourself. But even though you call out to her, she will ignore you and disappear.

In addition, whenever you get the Blood Moon cutscene, Zeldaā€™s narration seems a bit off and her outfit is strange.

Despite what all of this seems to claim, the real Princess Zelda isnā€™t evil at all in Tears of the Kingdom. Saying any more than that about her and her role in the story would constitute even greater spoilers, though.

Is there a fake Zelda?

What about all of the negative Zelda sightings that seem to indicate she is evil? Well, here is another spoiler warning for you before I continue.

You’d be right to second-guess this ominous Zelda! There is a fake Princess Zelda that is roaming all around Hyrule. This particular version of her character is seemingly evil. They have no problem luring people into traps and even seemingly being connected to the evil story bosses you fight in the main dungeons.

As for the identity of this particular fake Zelda, that is another spoiler topic that you should figure out on your own. Saying anymore about who this person is would spoil some major plot points in the game. Instead, it is best to make your own assumptions based on what you experience and see. From there, continue the main story until you find out the truth for yourself.
