Infinity Blade III hits the App Store on September 18

Just in time for the iPhone 5S

I quite liked Infinity Blade, and that’s coming as someone who infrequently plays iOS games. Granted, I completely missed out on the sequel, but the platform-appropriate controls and impressive visuals may pull me back in now that a sufficient amount of time has passed. Announced today in line with Apple’s unveiling of the iPhone 5S, Infinity Blade III will release on the App Store September 18, 2013 for $6.99.

Before you start to think otherwise, yes, this universal app is going to be compatible with more than just the new phone. The list of support devices is as follows: iPhone (5S, 5C, 4S, 4), iPad (4, 3, 2, mini), and iPod touch (5 and 4). Infinity Blade III marks the series’ conclusion, according to developer ChAIR, and lets you play as either Siris or the more stealth-centric Isa. There’s also a base of operations called The Hideout which is where you can recruit allies and determine where next to venture on the world map.

It’s wild to think about how successful Infinity Blade has been for Epic Games. There are even books — written by Brandon Sanderson, no less! My goodness.
