id and Bethesda bringing Rage, Skyrim to QuakeCon 2011

Today Bethesda and id Software have revealed the details of the events that will shape the upcoming QuakeCon 2011. And if there are any surprises, they’re not letting loose with them just yet.

As per usual, the event will jump off on August 4 with a keynote from id genius, John Carmack. He’ll talk about technology and stuff for a long time while everyone sits on the edge of their seats waiting for him to utter the words “Doom” and “four.”

The rest of the software line-up is pretty much everything Bethesda and id have been talking about up until now. Human Head’s Chris Rhinehart will demo Prey 2; Rage will be playable on the show floor; and Bethesda’s Todd Howard will demo The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

Solid line up, for sure. The event takes place from August 4 through August 6; anyone headed out to Dallas, Texas for this year’s festivities?
