How to survive in Bloodblight Swamp in RuneScape Dragonwilds

Potions are your best friend.

All of RuneScape Dragonwilds’ areas are difficult in various ways. Temple Woods and Bramblemead Valley are full of goblins that’ll constantly hunt you down, while regions like Fractured Plains and Stormtouched Highlands have their own challenges. Bloodblight Swamp is an entirely different ballgame, with poison being your main foe.

Initially, no matter what you do, you won’t be able to clear away the poisonous fog plaguing Bloodblight Swamp. What’s the strategy then? Do you tank through the damage and hope for the best, or is there a way to nullify these effects? Here are some tips for surviving in RuneScape Dragonwilds’ Bloodblight Swamp.

How to survive in Bloodblight Swamp in RuneScape Dragonwilds

The two main aspects you’ll need to focus on while exploring Bloodblight Swamp are poison resistance and Power Level three or higher gear. The enemies in this area are tough, so having some solid mid-to-late-game equipment and a few health potions on hand will give you the strength to continue.

More important, though, are Antipoison potions. Without these, you won’t last longer than a minute or two in the swamp unless you constantly chug health potions to stay alive. Antipoison potions in RuneScape Dragonwilds nullify poison effects completely, letting you roam around Bloodblight Swamp without taking a single damage point. That way, you’ll only have enemies to deal with as you’re searching for new ores or progressing through the main storyline.

How to make Antipoison potions in RuneScape Dragonwilds

Before you can unlock Antipoison potions, you’ll first need to build a brewing cauldron. Below are the exact items you need to create this workstation:

  • Ash Logs (16)
  • Coarse Thread (6)
  • Rune Essence (10)
  • Clay (6)

You’ll have easy access to all four of these materials by this point in your playthrough. The first three resources are available in Bramblemead Valley, while clay appears in Whispering Swamp.

With that out of the way, you’re now ready to dive into the brewing cauldron’s potion recipes. Below are the ingredients you need to make Antipoison potion:

All three items are located in Whispering Swamp, making this a crucial spot for resource collecting if you want to stockpile potions before your trip to Bloodblight Swamp. Bittercap Mushrooms appear as small orange-brown fungi on the ground, while Harralander is a blue and yellow herb plant.

Last on the list are clay vessels, which you can make with a Pottery Wheel. Here, you can use clay to make these vessels before heating them up inside a Kiln. Doing this converts them to fired clay vessels for potion-making.

Once you have your Antipoison potions on hand, enter Bloodblight Swamp and drink your potion to temporarily become completely immune to its damage. The effect will only last a few minutes, but if you bring a few to this area, you’ll have free rein to explore without any worries. Just watch for enemies, as dying in this region will respawn you at your bed, forcing you to make more Antipoison potions to survive the journey back to your Gravestone.
