These targets are decently tricky to find, and sometimes glitchy to interact with, so navigating through this task can be tough. If you’re struggling to get this one done, here’s how to hit hero practice targets at different hero training outposts in Fortnite.

To complete the hit hero practice targets at different hero training outposts quest in Fortnite, you need to hit three practice targets hero training outpost locations. There’s only one target at each outpost, so you have to visit three unique outposts to get this task done.

Each hero practice target is a small white object with two blue targets sticking out of it. It’s fairly small, but generally easy to spot since there’s always a white diamond icon with an exclamation point marking it.

You can strike the targets using any kind of weapon you like. This includes your Pickaxe and all weapons in Chapter Six, season three. Hitting the target is easy enough, but finding the right spots to tackle this quest can be trickier.

There are five hero training outposts you can visit around the island, all of which are mostly situated near the upper northeast end of the map. You only need to venture to three for this quest, but knowing all of the available options makes plotting your course for this task much easier.

Each hero training outpost is a small area marked by an underground bunker. They’re not super obvious from afar, so it can be a bit tough to spot the right location until you’re close to each one. The five hero training outposts can be found:

  • East of the Resistance Base.
  • Slightly south of Supernova Academy.
  • North of Shining Span.
  • East of Utopia City.
  • Slightly south of Foxy Floodgate.

Hit hero practice targets not working in Fortnite

The hero practice targets are quite buggy, and you may run into several issues while trying to finish this quest. The most common issues reported on Reddit and experienced by us as we worked on this task are the targets not appearing where they’re supposed to be or not spinning when you hit them, thus not counting for the quest.

There’s currently no easy way to combat these issues, but when I experienced them, I found that trying again in later matches worked. Sometimes the targets appeared and could be hit right away, but other times they were invisible or couldn’t be hit. Keep trying to visit these spots until you manage to get it done.

If you just can’t get this quest to progress no matter what you do, you may need to wait for the devs to auto-complete it. When quests have issues, the devs usually eventually auto-complete them for all players. Some of the past story quests in the Trials of Morgan Myst, like copying the actions of Morgan Myst’s shadow proxies, were glitchy and ended up being auto-completed for all players, so there’s a decent chance this one will be too.
