Grind those Mythic dungeons

Ever since World of Warcraft added in Mythic dungeons, folks have flocked to them as a source of endgame entertainment, gear-climbing, and bonuses. That principle also applies to WoW Dragonflight, which has a host of rewards in tow starting from the very first season. Here’s how the Gleaming Incarnate Thunderstone fits into that.

What does the Gleaming Incarnate Thunderstone do?

The Gleaming Incarnate Thunderstone is an account-wide unique item that binds when picked up, and has the following use action: “Infuse your armor with a faint echo of the Storm-Eater’s power, unlocking additional visual effects for certain Vault of the Incarnates class set appearances.”

After using it, you’ll get a visual/cosmetic effect on your equipment. Note that this is quasi-bugged (and/or not showing up by design on some items, including the actual Mythic gear set, which has it already), so it may not impact every piece of gear you own.

After you earn a Mythic rating of 2500 or more in Season 1, you’ll get the Gleaming Incarnate Thunderstone in the mail

The Gleaming Incarnate Thunderstone is a bragging-rights-esque reward that WoW Dragonflight players will earn through grinding out season 1, which began in December of 2022. In short, all you need to do is get a Mythic+ rating of 2500 or more, which will then gift you the Gleaming Incarnate Thunderstone in your mailbox. You’ll earn Mythic+ rating by completing dungeons, with bonuses for using keystones (extra challenges), or through completing dungeons quicker than the par time.

As a reminder, we have a breakdown on some Mythic+ mechanics in this guide here.

How do you check your Mythic score/rating in WoW Dragonflight?

To check your Mythic+ progress, open up the group finder window (defaulted to the “I” key), and click the Mythic+ dungeons tab.

You’ll need to “rank” by completing one Mythic+ dungeon, and then you’ll be good to go to monitor your progress.
