How to Get the Dragonfire II Ship in Starfield

To get the Dragonfire II, you will need to go to the Ship Services Technician at The Eleos Retreat on the planet Ixyll II in the Ixyll System. Go inside and talk to the Ship Services Technician and ask to see what he has for sale. You can then select the Dragonfire II and purchase it for around 360,000 Credits.

Please note that the Dragonfire can be purchased from the Ship Services Tech at New Homestead on Titan, but this is a lesser version of the Dragonfire II.

The Dragonfire II is a Class C ship, and you will need to increase your Piloting skill in the Tech tree to be able to fly it.

Dragonfire II Stats

The Dragonfire II has some quite decent stats, definitely enough to justify the price tag:

  • Fuel – 1550
  • Hull – 836
  • Cargo Capacity – 2790 (0 shielded cargo capacity)
  • Class C Reactor – 18
  • Crew – 7
  • Jump – 25 LY
  • Shield – 680
  • Par – 64
  • Bal – 92

Is it worth buying?

The Dragonfire II is a very solid ship. It has a great cargo hold increase if you are stepping up from the average Class A (except for the Star Eagle) while also being a good ship in combat. Decent enough shields and hull should keep you alive, and for outgoing damage, you have both ballistics weapons and particle beams. It is a solid, well-balanced ship that can do everything pretty well but doesn’t specialize in any one area.

The real appeal for the Dragonfire II appears to be for folks who really like to modify their ships. I have seen a lot of very cool builds from people who are using the Dragonfire II as a base and then visiting other shipyards to get the pieces to build their dream spacecraft. Were you to live your life a quarter parsec at a time, you could call the Dragonfire II the Nissan Skyline of space.

One thing I did notice while using it was a tendency for the main boarding area to bug out when loading into it from the ship. I would often load in trapped in the ground, which was a bit annoying.

When it comes to Class C ships in general, I’d have two main recommendations unless you are all about ship modding, in which case this is a superb option. First, consider doing the Overdesigned Mission and getting the Kepler R. It’s an amazing all-rounder, and it’s free. Second, if you have the dough, make your way to Taiyo Astroneering and check out the Narwhal.
