XDefiant looks to be the most significant challenger to Activision’s massive Call of Duty franchise in a long time. With a breadth of former CoD developers and even former pro players working on it at Ubisoft San Francisco, it aims to provide familiar FPS gameplay with the community in mind.

Furthermore, the XDefiant closed beta is going on right now. Players who have access can see how the game is shaping up.

How to obtain an XDefiant closed beta code

As a closed beta, only a certain number of players can access XDefiant. In other words, you need an closed beta code if you want to try out the various superpowered Defiant characters and the game’s six-versus-six maps and modes.

Here are the three main ways to get an XDefiant closed beta code.

Be a previous tester

First off, if you were a previous tester for XDefiant, you’re likely already back in for the closed beta. I was previously an alpha tester for the game and was immediately granted a closed beta code to try it out again without having to do any extra steps.

If this applies to you, be sure to check the email you originally signed up with, including spam and promotions. You might be able to get in right now.

Prominent influencers

The second main option for getting a beta code is through various influencers and developers. Some of the popular Call of Duty influencers, such as former pro Thomas “ZooMaa” Paparatto, posted beta codes for thousands of players to get in.

The same goes for some of the developers on the game, such as former Call of Duty World Champion Patrick “ACHES” Price. Follow them on platforms like Twitter and you might have a chance to get a beta code, if you’re fast.

XDefiant Twitch Drops

Finally, the most reliable method of earning a beta code is through Twitch. There are various Twitch Drops happening all throughout the XDefiant beta. All you need to do is watch official XDefiant content creators live, such as former CoD Champ Apathy, for at least 30 minutes.

If you do that, you’ll have a chance to win a beta code. Additionally, the more you watch, the more chances you’ll have. In the event you’re not actually interested in watching these streamers, all you need to do is lower the volume and leave their streams on in the background.

How to redeem an XDefiant beta code

Once you grab an XDefiant beta code, you’ll have the option to redeem it. Head to the closed beta website and sign into your Ubisoft account. Players without an account can create a fresh one on the spot. Regardless of the option you choose, connect your accounts at that site.

Afterwards, you’ll see the option to enter your beta code. During this process, the site will ask for your preferred beta platform. You can pick between PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

Pick your platform of choice, and you’ll receive a download code. Redeem the code on your respective platform and download the beta.
