How to get Gimmighoul Coins in Pokémon Go

Let's make some money!

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet introduced the ninth generation of monsters, including Gimmighoul. A new evolution item was also implemented for this Pokémon, in the form of Gimmighoul Coins. The golden pieces are essential for Gimmighoul’s evolution into Gholdengo, after collecting enough coins.

The evolution works the same in Pokémon Go, but you may wonder: where do you get Gimmighoul Coins in Go? Here’s where to find the golden pieces and what requirements are needed.

Where to find Gimmighoul Coins in Pokémon Go

Trainers can acquire Gimmighoul Coins in Pokémon Go through the following ways:

  • Catching a Roaming Form Gimmighoul
  • Adventuring with a Gimmighoul as your buddy
  • Find them at Golden PokéStops

First, you must connect Pokémon Scarlet or Violet to Pokémon Go. Use the settings in Pokémon Go to discover ‘Connected Devices and Services,’ then select the Nintendo Switch. While in Scarlet and Violet, go to the menu’s Poke Portal to connect and pair your account. After linking the accounts, send a postcard from Pokémon Go to Scarlet and Violet.

The Postcard Book can be found via the Trainer icon on the bottom-left corner of your phone screen. As a result, the Coin Bag will unlock in Pokémon Go. Open it, and a Roaming Form Gimmighoul will appear.

You may need to walk a few steps to trigger the Roaming Form Gimmighoul, leading to its capture. As a buddy, the Gimmighoul provides coins when performing various activities. Using the Coin Bag also helps lure more of them, but the item can only be used once daily when sending postcards.

Multiple postcards unlock Golden Lure Modules, which can turn PokéStops into Golden PokéStops. Spin these locations a few times to grab even more Gimmighoul Coins.

Those who collect 999 Gimmighoul Coins in Pokémon Go will produce the Gholdengo evolution. Of course, this will take some time to achieve, due to the limitations of the Coin Bag.
