How to Dual Wield in Rune Slayer
To get the Dual Wield skill in Rune Slayer you need the skill book Dual Weapons which is a Rare drop from Vangar, The Slayer mini-boss. You can get it through trading of course but I’m going to show you the traditional method. You can find Vangar near Lakeshire in Bahlgar/Beastman camp and here’s how to reach him:
- Go to Lakeshire (Third town) which is after Ashenshire by following the Ashenshire road to Lakeshire or just pointing your compast West from Ashenshire and going straight ahead until you reach it (The recommended level for Lakeshire is Level 30+).

- From the Lakeshire entrance when arriving from Ashenshire, take the left path through the town that leads into the mountain cave and go up the rope.
- Once you’re on the top platform in the cave/mountain take the stairs to the right of the wooden elevator.
- As soon as you’re outside, walk to the left and hug the left side of the wall where there’s a narrow walkway and keep heading down that narrow walkway jumping where you can and hugging the left side until you see some Platinum Ore deposits below.
- Once you see Platinum Ore jump down and keep heading down to reach the grass floor which is where you’ll find Vangar. He’ll spawn around this area here or near the nearby Beastman camp so just keep wandering around until you find him.
- Keep farming Vangar until he drops the Rare Dual Weapons skill book and just equip it and use it to unlock Dual Wield.

Vangar The Slayer Boss Tips
Here’s some advice for beating Vangar The Slayer mini-boss:
- Vangar has a chunky health pool and a lot of quick attacks that deal decent damage so it’s important to learn pattern to parry his attacks well and farm him.
- I recommend bringing a friend for easier farming but you can solo him with a pet around Level 30 to 40+ if you learn his patterns and parry well.
- Vangar can feint his attacks so be careful when parrying.
- Vangar can parry your attacks as well.
- If you don’t find him in his usual spawn this is because Vangar wanders around the area so also look in the Beastman camp until you find him.
- Besides the Dual Wield skill book Vangar can also drop a powerful Sanguine Greatbow Epic weapon and also his Epic Swords in addition to his Coat and Scarf which are Rare.
What Does Dual Wield Do in Rune Slayer
Here’s everything you need to know about Dual Wield in Rune Slayer:
- Once you use the skill book and unlock the Dual Weapons skill, it allows you to equip two swords or two daggers at the same time. The skill is restricted to only these two weapon types and you cannot mix and match swords and daggers.
- Dual Wielding increases your overall DPS and the best classes for it are Berserker, Sword Master and Thief.
- More importantly, Dual Weapons allows you to double up on weapon special effects like the Dragon’s Roar M1 effect on Ragnarok or the Blighted effect from Viridian. If you have two swords or two daggers with different special effects both will be active. Note that special effects from dual wielding the same weapon won’t stack.
