Lost and Found quests are randomly obtained when opening chests in Fortnite. Anytime you open one of these loot containers, there’s a chance that a special item may drop. These items are always marked with white sparkles and a diamond exclamation point icon.

Upon interacting with any Lost and Found quest item dropped from a chest, a special mission will begin. Lost and Found tasks are always timed, so you’ve only got a short period of time to get them done.

To finish the overarching complete Lost and Found quests mission, you need to fully finish a total of 10 of these tasks. There’s no way to control when and if you encounter the items needed to begin these quests, so this is more of a long-term goal as opposed to one you can quickly check off.

Some Lost and Found quests are also easier than others. The nature of each one is unique, so you might spend a long time attempting to find and work through just one, or instead manage to breeze through a few of them.

When you begin a Lost and Found quest, a pop-up will appear in the upper left corner to guide you through what needs to be done. These missions usually have two stages, including one to start you off, then the main task you need to work through.

In Dylan’s Merc Munitions: Start, for example, you’ll initially be asked to find and equip a specific type of weapon. Then, once you have it, you must deal a specified amount of damage against foes before the timer ends.

Another type of mission you may come across is Cluster’s Securing Sprites: Start task. You first need to find and equip a Sprite, then travel a certain amount of distance with one equipped before you run out of time.

Generally, these quests are fairly easy; the tough part is actually getting an item that starts them to drop. Focus on looting as many chests as you can to increase your odds of finding one. And once you’re done checking off this tough mission, you can move on to other tricky feats, like damaging opponents with style while using Seven Slidersfinding Sprite Chestsinvestigating the vision clue at Heatwave Harbor, and finding all Audio Logs.
