How to complete Home Is Where the Hearth Is in Dragon’s Dogma 2

I left my heart in Harve Village.

After you’ve found Ulrika during the Readvent of Calamity quest, Melve will be under the tyranny of regiment soldiers. To return the settlement to its former glory, you must work with Lennart to reclaim the town. So, here’s what you need to do to complete Home Is Where the Hearth Is in Dragon’s Dogma 2.

Those who have ventured into Melve after Readvent of Calamity will encounter a roadblock at its entrance. While you can exchange gold with the guard to get inside, I found it best to use a shortcut instead. Look to the right and go up the broken structures to sneak past the enemies at the entrance. Once inside, the guards don’t seem to attack you, but you may want to steer clear of them, regardless.

Find Lennart at Ulrika’s House to progress further in Home Is Where the Hearth Is in Dragon’s Dogma 2. He will ask you to get him four swords to retaliate against the soldiers. The only problem is that the weapon shop won’t be open during this time, so you must go to another city if you don’t already have these items.

It doesn’t matter what type of sword they are; they could even be the cheapest ones for sale. The Iron Sword seems to be the most inexpensive product, but be mindful of each item’s weight capacity. If anything, give the swords to the Pawns to avoid slowing down movement speeds.

Use the same route to get into Melve again and provide Lennart with the new tools. As a result, a fight against the enemy soldiers ensues, and you must help the residents regain their settlement. When it’s over, wait a few days to tell Ulrika what happened at Harve Village. She will be marked with a waypoint on the map near the docks.

To progress time, sit on a bench and select ‘Doze Off’ a few times. Eventually, Ulrika will ask you to talk with her later at night. If you’ve been wanting to get to know her better, Home Is Where the Hearth Is is a great way to do precisely that, and it’s an experience you don’t want to miss.

Home Is Where the Hearth Is quest rewards

After completing Home Is Where the Hearth Is in Dragon’s Dogma 2, you’ll receive:

  • Ring of Reassurance
  • 12,000 G
  • +2,200 XP

The Ring of Reassurance is excellent for Pawns, as it increases their Defense after the ring’s wearer helps them up. The mission also helps raise Ulrika’s companionship ranking. Her max Affinity level provides you with gifts at your home, and she may even show up there to enlist you in an escort mission. Ensure she gets to her specified destination safely to gain more rewards.

In addition to rewards, Home Is Where the Hearth allows you to romance Ulrika. After completing certain quests, she is one of the two characters with an exclusive cutscene. Check out our Ulrika romance guide to learn more about this steamy moment.

How to fix Home Is Where the Hearth Is quest bug in Dragon’s Dogma 2

Some players have encountered an issue with Home Is Where the Hearth, which is preventing them from progressing further. If you cannot speak to Lennart, you must eliminate all the guards in Melve. Since you are technically trespassing in Melve during this time, patrols can halt the mission. It’ll help you in the long run, given that the quest requires you to battle them shortly after.

Besides Melve, you may run into a bug in Harve Village. To fix this Dragon’s Dogma 2 Home Is Where the Hearth Is bug, complete the Monster Culling and Scaly Invaders quests. The area links to these missions, which may cause problems for Ulrika and Lennart’s storyline. Look around the area to spot any nearby quest-related enemies to hopefully address the issue.
