How to complete The Flying Metal Nuisance in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Eve will be your new BFF

One of the first quests you’ll need to complete when you purchase Disney Dreamlight Valley: A Rift in Time is “Flying Metal Nuisance.” This quest not only furthers the story but completing it also rewards you with a brand new tool — the Royal Hourglass.

To complete the quest, you’ll need to befriend Eve, who Jafar refers to as a ‘flying metal nuisance’. She’s scared, confused and her memory has failed her since landing on Eternity Isle, but you can help.

Jafar won’t be the most helpful when it comes to hints here, but all you need to do in order to find Eve is head back to the docks. There’s a small island to the left of the pier where you first arrive and this is where you’ll find Eve.

You’ll need to break a few Splinters of Fate and destroy a few Copper Rocks with your pickaxe in order to get to her, but you shouldn’t have too much trouble. Once you’ve passed these obstacles, talk to Eve, and you’ll see the Royal Hourglass situated on the wall behind her, but she will refuse to give it to you.

Return to Jafar, who will reveal that you’ve been to Eternity Isle before and instruct you to search Eve’s house. To find her house, head back to the little island off the docks – you can’t miss the Spaceship there.

Once inside, clear the rubble and search the house for clues until you find a letter, which yields a memory. Next, return to Jafar.

To find the secret location in Eve’s memory, go back to the Docks again and seek out the waterfall next to where Eve is still standing guard of the Hourglass. Behind this waterfall, there is a secret passage, and once you go inside, you’ll find a small courtyard complete with the picnic blanket from the memory.

Upon interacting with the treasure chest on this blanket, you’ll be given a robot costume. Put this on and head back to Eve, who will begin to remember and provide you with a recipe — Best Fish Forever.

Best Fish Forever is a 4-star recipe that can only be made using ingredients from Eternity Isle. Before you can make this recipe and give it to Eve, you’ll need to unlock Goofy’s Stall in Ancient’s Landing, and to do this, you’ll need to complete two side quests:

  • Scrooge’s Condemned Building Sign quest
    • Pick up the condemned sign from outside Scrooge’s shop to begin this quest
  • Goofy’s Give Me a Sign quest
    • The broken piece of Goofy’s sign can be found immediately to the right of his broken Stall.

Once you’ve done this, you’ll need to find the following ingredients:

  • 1 Sea Snail
    • Caught in blue fishing spots around the Docks
  • 1 Robot Fish
    • Caught in orange fishing spots around the Docks
  • 1 Celery
    • Goofy rewards you with Celery Seeds upon completing Give Me a Sign; Celery takes 10 minutes to grow.
  • 1 Cumin
    • Foraged from around the Docks, it’s the big white weed.

Cook Best Fish Forever and give it to Eve, who will stand aside and let you pick up the Royal Hourglass.
