I love and live for golf videogames. I know that’s a strange genre to love, but I’m really into it, so I’m unnaturally excited for the NGP version of Hot Shots Golf.
This new version gets some fancy upgrades for the NGP. The system’s increased horsepower gives this version of the game improved visuals and “high-resolution graphics.” The new touch panel adds the ability to set up and make hot shots, and the six-axis motion controls allow you to fully explore courses and obstacles.
On the software side there’s a new shot system that promises an evolved swing mechanic that ensures accuracy. There’s plenty of online functionality, as well. You’ll be able to play with up to 50 players in LiveArea. Of course, there’s leaderboards, and Sony promises DLC with characters, courses and accessories.
Hot Shots Golf does not have a solid release date. It seems the name is also temporary. Expect to hear more next week at E3 2011.
