Halo is Xbox’s flagship franchise and for good reason. Since launching alongside the original Xbox, the Halo series has managed to sell more than 65 million copies. That’s some Spartan-like resolve.

News of the milestone accompanied a Halo-themed panel at San Diego Comic-Con this past weekend. Most of the presentation was focused on moving forward (until dawn?) with the series, but that 65 million figure put into perspective exactly how revered and widely-adopted the sci-fi shooter remains.

Since 2001, Microsoft has done a diligent job in frequently releasing Halo titles. This new lifetime sales figure includes Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2Halo 3, Halo Wars, Halo 3: ODST, Halo: Reach, Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 4, Halo: The Master Chief Collection, and Halo: Spartan Assault. October’s Halo 5: Guardians will likely give that number a nice little boost.
