Fortnite is running a May 4 Star Wars event for the next week, here’s how to finish the challenges

Lightsabers are back

It’s time for another Fortnite Star Wars promo, as a follow-up to the Mandalorian event several seasons ago, and other bits and bobs.

I mean financially, it’s never a bad time to “celebrate” one of the biggest franchises in the world, and Fortnite is no stranger to marketing tie-ins. But in simple terms, there’s a Star Wars event running for roughly a week, through May 17 at 12AM ET. You’ll find a new set of quests (with an emblem banner reward), new costumes to pick up, and a few returning items (lightsabers from various Star Wars cast members, and the E-11 Blaster Rifle).

Here’s how to finish all of the Star Wars quests. Note that you only need to do five of the six quests to get the banner reward, but everything provides XP.

Fornite Star Wars quests (live until May 17 at 12AM ET):

[5 phases] Survive Storm Phases While Carrying a Lightsaber

This one is pretty easy to do in theory, but it might be the last quest you finish (or the one you put off). Lightsabers are randomly strewn about the landscape, so you may need to deliberately take out an opponent who has one to get it: if you can’t find any in chests.

Once you have it, you just need to have it in your inventory and survive until each storm phase countdown timer finishes: rinse and repeat five times. It helps to try and get a lightsaber early so you have more chances for this one in each match.

[1000 damage] Damage Opponents within 30 Meters using the E-11 Blaster Rifle

This is an easy one. Just head to any Stormtrooper checkpoint (the one in the image above, in the red circle, is the least-populated one in my experience) and buy an E-11 Blaster Rifle from the Stormtrooper NPCs (it’s only 100 gold).

From there just stay semi-close to enemies, or NPCs, and blast them. This might take you a few games.

Complete a Bounty from a Stormtrooper

As soon as you land at the above checkpoint (or any of them), get a bounty from the Stormtrooper NPC immediately. It’s free and you can complete this even if it’s taken from you.

Drive a Vehicle from Chonker’s Speedway or Logjam Lumberyard to a Stormtrooper Checkpoint

The easiest path in my experience is going straight to Logjam Lumberyard and grabbing a truck.

Just drive it to the above Stormtrooper checkpoint and it’ll automatically complete. Easy.

Land at a Stormtrooper Checkpoint, Then Place Top 25

Again, land at that same checkpoint! Then quickly drive away in a car (you can find one to the south at the shack, generally) and survive until you hit the top 25.

This quest will pop mid-game.

[10 hits] Block Hits Using a Lightsaber

This is one of the easiest quests of the lot, provided you find a lightsaber. Just press LT (or aim) to block with it, and don’t over-rely on your blocking technique to stop every bullet.

It’s sometimes best to block a few shots, pull out a weapon, finish off an opponent, and move on. Then block a few shots when you come across someone else who is ambushing you, and repeat.
