Fallout 76’s next patch will bring more C.A.M.P. upgrades, overhauls Charleston Capitol Courthouse

Patch 12 is due this month

Pretty much everything on the way to the fabled Fallout 76 “NPC patch” is white noise. I’ve been dipping in and out since launch, experiencing a number of great patches, but the lack of a cohesive driving narrative always pushes me away from long term commitments.

Patch 12, which is due later this month, is another update that is trying to bridge the goodwill gap, and has a few cool upgrades buried inside of it. The big one is C.A.M.P. (home base) additions, including extra display cases and stands to show off your items, complete with a new “trophy” interface for everything: the system allows for up to 30 displays.

The Charleston Capitol Courthouse is also getting a new coat of paint, with “significant updates to the building’s interior.” The layout is becoming more friendly, and will contain more lore, with concessions for main story quest streamlining. The courthouse is kind of a big deal in the game, with a whole backstory on why it survived the war (read: because the West Virginia state government likely wanted it to, given the huge tourism tie-in).

Finally, the Cap (in-game currency) limit is increasing to 30,000 (up from 25,000), and it will be harder to accidentally interact with furniture, so that you don’t sit down and take a load off during a crucial firefight. That last bit definitely falls into the “quality of life/bugfix” table that Bethesda has been scrambling to do right by since the rocky launch.
