Season Pass deals too, of course
The much-anticipated Street Fighter V hits shelves tomorrow and unlocks tonight at 9:00pm Pacific (review here). As with all AAA games, it’ll begin at the standard $59.99 list price, but this wouldn’t be a deal-comparison post without us finding discounts for you on PC and PlayStation 4.
Right now, the PC version claims the highest-percentage discount, and better yet, it’s the easiest to obtain. The honor goes to DLGamer with a price cut to $42.89 (28% off). Other notable discounts come from Funstock Digital, GamesPlanet, and Green Man Gaming. If you must have the 2016 Season Pass (yes, more will come), the best bet is to grab it and the base game separately at GMG (and skip out on the Deluxe as its savings are less than buying separately).
PC Deals:
GMG
- Street Fighter V Standard (Steam) — $45 (list $60) <- only till tomorrow morning
Use Code: GREENM-ANGAME-25PFEB - Street Fighter V 2016 Season Pass (Steam) — $24 (list $30)
Use Code: FEBURY-SVINGS-20PERC - Street Fighter V Deluxe (Steam) — $72 (list $90) <- better off buying separately
Use Code: FEBURY-SVINGS-20PERC
Other Retailers
- $42.89 at DLGamer
- $45.59 at Funstock Digital
- £31.49 at GamesPlanet (~$45.77 USD)
If you pre-order before the 9:00pm unlock time, you should still receive the Chun-Li battle costume bonus.
PS4 Deals
PS4 Standard Edition
- $59.99 at Dell Home + $15 Gift Card
- $47.99 at Best Buy (Requires GCU)
- $47.99 at Amazon (Requires Prime)
PS4 Collector’s Edition
- $79.99 at Best Buy (Requires GCU)
- $79.99 at Amazon (Requires Prime)
Deals for the PS4 version are available but warrant a little explanation. If you’re a paid member of either Amazon Prime or Best Buy’s Gamers Club Unlocked, you’re getting a 20% pre-order discount. Best Buy’s GCU is a $30 two-year membership, while Prime is $99 a year. We wouldn’t recommend getting a membership just for SFV, but if you buy a ton of new games every year on console, the savings will add up, so it’s something to consider.
You don’t need to be a paid member of anything to get a pre-order deal at Dell. The PC retailer is giving you a $15 gift card bonus if you buy before the “release date.” The gift card shows up in the first stage of checkout. Hint: If you don’t see it by the time you’re reading this, they’re no longer offering the freebie.
The Amazon Prime and Best Buy GCU discounts will run all the way through the end of the month. For the collector’s edition, you can add GCU to your cart immediately and reap the $30 benefit (effectively cancelling out the cost of two years GCU). With these offers, you do not need to pre-order to save, but you will most likely need to pre-order to get the battle costume bonus.
